Phased road closures set to start on Padgate Lane to allow water works

PHASED road closures are set to come into force on Padgate Lane from tomorrow (Sunday, March 12) to allow United Utilities to install a new water connection.

The closures will come into force from March 12.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Padgate Lane from its junction with Manchester Road to its junction with Marsh House Lane.
The Order will be effective on 12th March 2023 and 19th March 2023, as and when signed on site. The works will be implemented in phases as follows: Phase 1 – 12th March 2023 closure of Padgate Lane in a north bound direction; Phase 2 – 19th March 2023 closure of Padgate Lane in a south bound direction. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative routes are: Phase 1 via Manchester Road, Battersby Lane and Marsh House Lane and via Manchester Road, King Edward Street and Padgate Lane; Phase 2 via Marsh House Lane, Battersby Lane and Manchester Road and via Padgate Lane, King Edward Street and Manchester Road.
The restrictions are required to allow for United Utilities to install a new water connection.
