Family fun-run to raise funds for village library renovation

A FAMILY Fun Run is to be held on Saturday, March 11 to raise money for the Culcheth Library renovation fund.

The race will start at 10.30am – with a warm-up at 10.15 am organised by Boogie Woogie (Keep Fit) Sue. The race itself will be led by “David the Culcheth Fairy.”
Entry fee is £5 per family and all runners will get a medal, certificate and a fairy bell.
Runners are being asked to turn up in fancy dress and there will be a prize for the outfit judged to be the best.
Anyone who doesn’t want to run can make a Mother’s Day card at the craft stall.

The library is due close, temporarily from tomorrow (Saturday) to enable the renovation project to get underway, so the event – which starts from outside the library building – might offer a last chance to see the “old” library before it is transformed into what the Friends of Culcheth Library hope will become “the jewel in Culcheth’s crown.”
The plans for the redevelopment have been produced by Warrington Borough Council and LiveWire, which manages the library – in conjunction with the Friends’ group.
During the closure period Library users are invited to use their nearest library services at Birchwood Library or via LiveWire’s online resources which include free e-books and e-audio items as well as a wealth of online reference material available to use at home.
