Fire crew tackle car blaze at Rixton

FIREFIGHTERS were called out earlier today to tackle a car blaze at Rixton, Warrington.

Shortly after 10 am one crew from Birchwood was called to reports of a car well alight on Moat lane, Rixton.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to put out the blaze and police attended for traffic management.
The crew used absorbent mats to soak up a small amount of diesel that had spilled on the road.

In another incident yesterday evening, one crew from Warrington was called out shortly after 6pm to deal with a skip fir eon Penny Lane, Collins Green, Warrington.
The skip was well alight in an uncontrolled fire on Penny Lane. A hose reel jet was used by the crew to put out the blaze and the area was dampened down. Safety advice was given to the people with the skip.
