Two fire crews tackle car blaze on M6 at Woolston

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a car blaze on the M6 at Woolston on Monday afternoon which caused traffic delays of around 30 minutes as two lanes were closed.

At around 2:30 pm crews from Warrington and Birchwood were called to reports of a car was well alight on the M6 north bound between junction 21 and 21a.

Police were in attendance and closed lanes one and two of the motorway.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
All persons were accounted for.
