Fire crew tackle large rubbish fire near Penketh

FIREFIGHTERS were called out earlier today to tackle a large rubbish fire near Penketh.

Shortly after 10 am one crew from Penketh was called out to reports of a large rubbish fire on wasteland off Widnes Road at Cuerdley Cross near Penketh

They used a hose reel to extinguish it.

The incident followed a busy period for the team from Penketh who were also involved in dealing with a garage fire, bin fire and road traffic collision.
