A teenage male was arrested in the Poplars and Hulme area of Warrington yesterday for possessing a screwdriver as an offensive weapon and assaulting an emergency worker during his arrest.
Officers were called at around 5pm on Monday 30 January to Poplars Avenue following reports of a male believed to have been in possession of a weapon.
Patrols swiftly attended the scene and performed a stop search of a boy who was found to be in possession of a screwdriver.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon, resisting arrest and assault of an emergency services worker.
He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
