Three fire crews called out to loft fire at Croft

THREE fire crews were called out yesterday to tackle a loft fire at a property in Croft, Warrington.

At 14:16 crews from Warrington, Birchwood and Lymm, attended at the semi-detached property on Browmere Drive.

The fire was in the loft of the property, all persons were able to evacuate the building.
Crews wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. They then removed roof tiles and dampened down the area.

In another incident at 23:03 last night crews from Warrington and Lymm were called to reports of a fire out of control in the open on Warrington Road, Hatton.
A controlled burn had got out of control and was not being monitored. The crew put out the fire using a hose reel jet and were then detained at the scene turning over and damping down the debris to ensure the fire didn’t reignite.
The fire, covering some 10 metres by 8 metres, was a mixture of household waste.
