New traffic restrictions at Westbrook to improve highway safety near school

0

HIGHWAY planners are set to implement new traffic restrictions to ensure vehicles do not park on the approaches to the Westbrook Centre and a local primary school to improve road safety.

The proposed measures are to ensure vehicles do not park on the approaches to the Westbrook Centre and on the section adjacent to St.Philip (Westbrook) C of E (aided) Primary School.

The routes are also service/delivery routes for larger vehicles. Parked vehicles reduce visibility for approaching drivers and pedestrians crossing the carriageway, therefore, the no waiting and parking restrictions will improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists using the routes.
