Council hopeful Play and Sensory Centre will be back open soon after heating failure

WARRINGTON Borough Council says it is hopeful the Play and Sensory Centre at Woolston Hub, which has been closed since the start of the year due to a heating failure, will be back open soon.

The Warrington Play and Sensory Centre has been closed since January 2nd, with no heating and no update on when it’s likely to be fixed.

A concerned parent who contacted Warrington Worldwide to raise concerns said parties were being rescheduled and/ or cancelled and that people who relied on a vital service for their children “were being let down”.

But a spokesperson for Warrington Borough Council said: “The heating system at the sensory centre is currently in need of repair. The well-being of our visitors is paramount and the centre will therefore remain closed until the necessary repairs are made.
“We have been in touch with our regular visitors and pre-booked parties to cancel or rearrange bookings and hope to be back open again to our customers soon”.

Warrington Play and Sensory Centre is a purpose-built activity centre for disabled children and adults or those with special needs.
The centre is open to anyone with a disability (and their family and friends) along with parents or carers.
