POLICE have issued a warning following suspicious activity in the Latchford area of Warrington involving house front door handles being tried at properties across the area.

Local officers say that over the last couple of months, several suspicious incidents have been reported to police of house door handles being tried across Latchford.

While no entry has been gained, it has caused a lot of distress to the occupants, some of whom have been elderly, inside their own houses.
On each occasion, no-one has been seen and they have managed to evade CCTV.
Police say it is a worrying trend and is a reminder to everyone to ensure their doors are locked and secure even if they are in.
Suspicious activity can be reported via 101 or 999 in an emergency.
