Four weeks road closure planned at Culcheth

HIGHWAY planners are proposing to close a stretch of road at Culcheth for up to four weeks for road and footway resurfacing works.

The road closure will take place on Broseley Lane from the entrance of Leigh Golf Club to Wilton Lane between the hours of 9;30 am and 3;30pm Monday-Friday.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Broseley Lane at the bend at the entrance to Leigh Golf Club (Broseley Avenue to Wilton Lane).
The Order will be effective from 31st January 2023 for 4 weeks, between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, as and when the signs are in place on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.

The alternative route will be via B5207 Broseley Lane, Common Lane, A574 Warrington Road, A580 East Lancashire Road, A572 Newton Road, B5207 Kenyon Lane and Wilton Lane.
The closure is required to allow for the installation of safety kerbs and resurfacing of the carriageway and footway.
