POLICE have issued a warning for people to keep dogs on leads in public places following reports of dog attack incidents in the Burtonwood and Winwick areas.

Local PCSO Tony Spruce said: “I have had a few people report to me about people letting dogs run loose on the park areas and even in the children’s play areas.

“Recently we have had a few issues of dogs attacking other dogs on the parks, these are normally friendly dogs that just turn on others.
“If your dog attacks another you will be responsible for vet bills and if dogs attack people you could face criminal charges, it’s not worth it,” added Tony.
