Evening road closures at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub set to start

THERE will be limited evening access to Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub starting on Monday (Jan 9) due to road closures for carriageway resurfacing works, for up to six weeks.

Warrington Borough Council is set to undertake resurfacing road works on Jubilee Way, Orford, from 9th January for six weeks between the hours of 7pm and 1am.
This work means that users of LiveWire services at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub will be unable to use Jubilee Way from the junction at Winwick Road to the junction with Alder Lane between 7pm and 1am, and will need to use an alternative route to access the hub.
During this time, customers are advised to use the alternative routes via A49 Winwick Road, A50 Long Lane, A50 Orford Green, Hallfields Road, Norris Street, Orford Avenue and Alder Lane. An additional alternative route is via A49 Winwick Road, Ireland Street, South Avenue, Alder Lane and vice versa or by Alder Lane, Mortimer Avenue, West Avenue, Hale Street, Longford Street and A49 Winwick Road.

The closures are scheduled during the evening from 7pm-1am to help minimise traffic disruption.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway on Jubilee Way from its junction with A49 Winwick Road to its junction with Alder Lane.
The Order will be effective from 9th January 2023 for 6 weeks, between 7pm and 1am, as and when signed on site.

Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via A49 Winwick Road, A50 Long Lane, A50 Orford Green, Hallfields Road, Norris Street, Orford Avenue and Alder Lane or via A49 Winwick Road, Ireland Street, South Avenue, Alder Lane and vice versa or via Alder Lane, Mortimer Avenue, West Avenue, Hale Street, Longford Street and A49 Winwick Road.
The restrictions are required for carriageway resurfacing.
