Eleven more COVID-19 related deaths as hospital inpatient numbers and infection rates continue to rise

ELEVEN more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital in the past two weeks with hospital inpatient numbers and infection rates continuing to rise.

Despite the continuing rise, infection rates are in single figures in all but four areas of Warrington, Fairfield & Howley, Central Warrington, Lymm, Stockton Heath & Hillcliffe.

The 147 cases week ending Dec 31 compared to 111 cases in the week ending December 24. While there have been eleven more COVID-19-related hospital death in the past two weeks, inpatient numbers have risen from 26-45 with 42 (16) patients discharged in the past two weeks.

Current inpatients as of Thursday, January 5, 2023, compared to Thursday, December 22 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 45 (26) including 0 (1) in ICU.

There have been 147 (111) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 84,752  (84,457) – 78,177  (77,996)  1st infections, 6,575 (6,461) second and an infection rate of 70.2 (53) per 100,000 which have risen, compared to a rate of 64.7 (65.4) for England which have fallen slightly.
