Warrington schools compete in Breaking Championships for first time

WARRINGTON schools have been competing in the Merseyside, Cheshire & West Lancashire School Breaking Championships for the first time, with Great Sankey coming runners-up.

Schools from Warrington have been placing 2nd, 7th, 9th, and 10th in the December heat of Merseyside, Cheshire and West Lancashire School Breaking Championships, which include Breaking athletes for infant, junior and secondary schools competing against each other to win gold for their schools. This was the first time that schools from Warrington have competed in the tournament.

The December competition took place at JC Dance Academy in Warrington on Saturday 10th December.
Competitors from schools across the three counties compete once a month to score points for their school depending on which place they exit the tournament, the scores are totalled and contribute to the school’s overall points.
The culmination of the last four months has ranked the schools in the following positions:
Twenty-five children and young people represented the borough of Warrington, 22 of the competitors were female and the Senior School and Girls Open finals were between students from high schools across Warrington.

Secondary School
1st Place – De La Salle High School (St Helens)
2nd Place – Great Sankey High School (Warrington)
3rd Place – King David Secondary School (Liverpool)

Primary School
1st Place – Fazakerley Primary School (Liverpool)
2nd Place – Our Lady’s Bishop Eton Primary School (Liverpool)
3rd Place – Willow Tree Primary School (St Helens)
Out of 823 Primary Schools

Infant School – Age 4-6 year olds
1st Place – St Peter C.E Primary School (Newton-le-Willows)
2nd Place – St Julie’s Catholic Primary School (St Helens)
3rd Place – Our Lady’s Bishop Eton Primary School (Liverpool)
Out of 823 Primary Schools

Open Age Girls – Infant, Primary & Secondary School
1st Place – Willow Tree Primary School (St Helens)
2nd Place – Great Sankey High School (Warrington)
3rd Place – Prescot Primary School (Knowsley)
Out of 1086 Primary and Secondary Schools
