POLICE have visited two Warrington schools following several reports of pupils walking across frozen water in the Great Sankey area of town.
Yesterday afternoon officers received several reports from across Warrington West regarding School children walking and playing on frozen water.
It is believed these children attend both Great Sankey High School and St Gregory’s Catholic High School.
PCSOs attended both Schools this morning to ensure that the message is clear, “frozen water is extremely dangerous and should not be treated as a playground”.
This message was relayed to students, parents and staff.
The warning follows the tragic death of four young boys in Solihull after they fell through the ice on a frozen lake, suffering cardiac arrest due tot he freezing water.
