Community stalwart resigns from council after feeling isolated in decision-making

COMMUNITY stalwart Kath Buckley has resigned from her role as a parish councillor at Lymm, saying she has been left isolated in decision-making.

She was the last remaining Conservative Cllr on the Lib Dem-controlled council.

Commenting on her decision Kath said: “I have tendered my resignation from Lymm Parish Council because I have since May 2021 felt, in my opinion, increasingly isolated from the decision-making of the Parish.
“I respect the other councillors and this is not at all personal. I truly believe that a Parish Council should reflect the voices of the community they serve and be a broad spectrum.
“I feel that I am best now consolidating and continuing in my role as Brough Councillor and all the other things I do for the Community of Lymm such as Church Warden, serving on various committees, volunteering etc.
Kath has served on the parish council since 2013 and is now working on a novel – The Domville Chronicles, a ghost story based around Lymm.
Earlier in the year, she stood down from her role as Chair of Lymm May Queen after 10 years of involvement.
