One casualty taken to hospital after electrical fire at domestic property

ONE casualty was taken to hospital as a precaution by paramedics following an electrical fire at a domestic property in Great Sankey, Warrington, during the early hour of this morning.

At 00:53 fire crews from, Penketh, Warrington and Widnes were called to a smoke alarm sounding in a domestic property and a smell of smoke required firefighters to attend a 999 call.
On arrival, they found a fire on the ground floor of the house and used a hose reel to extinguish it. A large fan was also used to remove smoke from the property. One person was taken to hospital by paramedics as a precaution.
It is believed electrics were the cause of the fire. They were in attendance for approximately 45 minutes.
