THERE was more traffic chaos on the roads of Warrington this morning after a car crashed on the Chester Road swing bridge, resulting in the road being closed in both directions.
As a result, the A5060 Chester Road was blocked both ways between Gainsborough Road and Ellesmere Road, causing queuing traffic during the morning rush hour, which backed up onto surrounding roads into the Latchford area.
Police confirmed they received a call shortly after 7am reporting a collision involving one vehicle on the swing bridge.
The car, a silver Suzuki Swift, was blocking the road. The driver was out of the vehicle, shaken up but with no obvious injuries.
The road has since re-opened.
