Electrical fault believed to have started fire at takeaway

THREE fire crews were called out to tackle a fire at a takeaway at Grappenhall on Sunday afternoon.

At 15:13 fire engines from Penketh, Warrington and Altrincham were called to reports of a fire at commercial premises on Knutsford Road, Grappenhall, Warrington.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus put out the fire using a hose reel jet and a dry powder extinguisher. A high-pressure fan was used to clear the smoke.
A fire investigation was undertaken and it is believed the fire was caused by an electrical fault. There were no casualties.

    Good job no one was in danger then!
    Isn’t there a fire appliance or two just up the road; a road on which the appliance doesn’t have to travel through towns and villages , or is it just an unmanned nice new building?..
