POLICE and Crime Commissioner, John Dwyer, recently met with officers and staff at Warrington Local Policing Units (LPU’s) to discuss their challenges, successes and experiences on the front line.

The visit to Warrington was one of nine of Cheshire Constabulary’s LPUs.

The Commissioner met with Chief Inspector (CI) Neil Drum along with officers and staff from various teams who provided a current overview of LPU’s activities and objectives.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the Commissioner to highlight the priorities outlined in the Police and Crime Plan and how they were being addressed in the area, as well as the support he could provide to officers, staff and their local communities.

Mr Dwyer said: “It was great to meet with the Warrington team and gain an insight into their day-to-day activities, challenges and success as they serve their communities. Their feedback is invaluable and ensures that I can support them, and the local residents, in the way that is needed.
“It’s my role to take this feedback on board and ensure that the Constabulary is able to work in the most effective and efficient way, so that the public receive the outstanding police service they deserve.”
Chief Inspector at Warrington LPU, Neil Drum said: “It was a pleasure to welcome the Commissioner and discuss the work that goes into preventing and tackling crime here in Warrington.
“It was a really valuable session with officers having the opportunity to feedback their own personal experiences that they have had within their role and discuss directly with the Commissioner what additional support they and their communities could benefit from.”
Mr Dwyer added: “I am grateful to CI Drum and his team for welcoming me to Warrington and for setting out their experiences and goals as an LPU.
“There were lots of positive areas to discuss, but I know there is always room for improvement so I am committed to working with the LPUs and the wider Constabulary to ensure this momentum continues.”
