PLANS have been drawn up for a change of use of first-floor office accommodation in Warrington town centre to a yoga studio.

The scheme, submitted by Stuart Lawton, of Hotpod Yoga, Warrington, is for the premises in Dolman’s Lane, Warrington.

It is intended the premises be open seven days a week from 6.30 am to 9.30 pm. There would be 6-8 members of staff, including receptionists and yoga teachers.
Hotpod yoga claim to be Europe’s largest yoga business and holds classes at more than 50 locations around the world. Its aim is to create an immersive environment for a supercharged yoga experience.

The hotpod creates an enclosed area able to retain a warm environment of approximately 37°C, which assists in warming muscles and aiding flexibility.
The hotpod glows purple to enhance a calm mind, further emphasized by soundscapes of “urban-chill beats.”
To help unwind the mind and awaken the senses, natural plant
fragrances are infused into the hotpod. Classes are rooted in Vinyasa Flow – a style of yoga that synchronises movement and breath, to work the body and calm the mind.
The applicants believe the development will not create significant noise or nuisance for existing, neighbouring businesses and will, in fact, increase footfall in the area, adding to t he variety of the town centre.
Borough council planners are currently considering the proposals.
