FIREFIGHTERS were called out to two incidents in Warrington last night involving reports of a fire at a takeaway at Orford and an arson attack on an industrial bin on Winwick Street.

At 19:01 one crew from Warrington was called to reports of a fire under a counter at a takeaway on Howson Road, Orford.

The fire was out on arrival but the crew checked the area with a thermal imaging camera and cut away parts of the counter to ensure the fire was out before leaving.

Earlier at 18:00 a crew from Warrington was called to reports of a fire involving an industrial bin on Winwick Street, Warrington. The bin contained wood and was extinguished with a hose reel. Firefighters arrived and found it well alight and they believed it had been set on fire deliberately so they informed Cheshire Police.
