SHORTLY after travellers were ordered to vacate land near Birchwood Forest Park a travellers encampment has now arrived on the car park of the Hawthorn Centre in Orange Grove, Fearnhead, Warrington.

An unauthorised encampment of seven vehicles vacated the council-owned land off Ordanance Avenue in Birchwood on Tuesday, after being on-site for almost three weeks, and within hours seven vehicles arrived on the car park at the Hawthorn Centre – also owned by Warrington Borough Council.

According to Cheshire West and Chester County Council Gypsy/Traveller welfare officers, a notice will be served on the group later today, November 17.
Pictures taken this morning already show piles of rubbish accumulating on the car park

The group at Birchwood had been given temporary permission to remain on the site, and was provided with temporary toilet facilities.
Meanwhile, an encampment of three vehicles has also been reported on Silver Lane, Risley, arriving on Tuesday (Nov 15) the same day an encampment of three vehicles vacated the car park at Orford Jubilee Hub.
