Man sadly dies after serious collision on M6 at Thelwall

A man who suffered life-changing injuries in a serious road traffic collision on the M6 at Thelwall, Warrington, has sadly died.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “A man who was involved in a collision on the M6 in Cheshire has sadly died.

“The 41-year-old man, from St Helens, sustained serious injuries during a three-vehicle collision on the M6 in Thelwall which occurred at 12.30am on Tuesday, November 15.

“He was subsequently taken to the Salford Royal Hospital but sadly, despite the best efforts of all those involved, he passed away on Wednesday, November 16.

Meanwhile John Frazer Yates, aged 28, of no fixed abode, North Wales, who was arrested on Tuesday 15 November following the three-vehicle collision has since been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop following a collision, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and failing to report a collision.
Yates appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Wednesday 16 November, where he was remanded in custody.
He is next set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Wednesday 14 December.
