A developer has pledged more than £1.6m to the Daresbury community as part of plans for 350 new homes across more than 30 acres of land close to the Bridgewater Canal.

Significant existing mature landscaping will be retained as part of the development by Castle Green Homes, with open spaces and play areas for residents to enjoy.

Castle Green has also committed to section 106 agreements worth circa £1.6million to support the growth of the neighbourhood. The lion’s share – more than £1 million – has been allocated towards off-site public open space.
The homebuilder will also fund £500,000 of improvements to public rights of way and make a contribution of £60,000 towards sustainable transport.

Castle Green Homes has outline consent to build 350 new homes across almost 31 acres of land close to the Bridgwater Canal.
Full planning permission is in place for 108 homes on land south of Red Brow Lane and a planning application for the remaining 242 homes on the northern parcel of land has been submitted to Halton Borough Council.
Along with new homes, the development will bring circa £1.6 million worth of investment to the area. The first homes at the development, known as Bridgewater View because of its proximity to the canal, are now on sale.

Caryl Russell, sales and marketing director at Castle Green Homes said: “The land we’re developing in Daresbury was allocated for housing development in the Halton Borough Council Local Plan, based on the council’s assessment of local housing need. The first phase of Bridgewater View features 81 private sale properties, including a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom designs, which are now available to reserve off plan.
“Bridgewater View is the third North West development for Castle Green, but the first to offer a state-of-the-art touchscreen experience centre. We’ve invested in digital technology to enhance the customer journey and enable visitors to embark on a virtual tour around the development and inside the homes before they are built.”
Current prices at Bridgwater View start from £339,995 for a three-bedroom detached Stratford.

Along with private sale properties, the first phase of Bridgewater View also includes 27 affordable homes, in a choice of two and three-bedroom designs. The specification across the development incorporates a high level of energy efficiency and electric vehicle charging point provision.

Castle Green, has offices in St Asaph and Preston Brook, and is expanding from its North Wales heartland across the North West. The company achieved sell-out success in Meols, Wirral and is currently active at Willow Fields in Warrington, part of the largest mixed-use development site in the North West. As the homebuilder continues its expansion across the region, its recently started work on 206 new homes in Thornton in Sefton.
