Three fire crews tackle lorry fire on M6 at Winwick

THREE fire crews were called out on Friday afternoon to tackle a lorry fire on the slip road of the M6 at Winwick.

Crews from Warrington, Birchwood and Poynton attended at junction 22 southbound shortly before 3pm.

A heavy goods vehicle was well alight on the sliproad. The crews used two hose reels to extinguish the flames.
The temperature of the vehicle was monitored by firefighters and the sliproad was closed while the incident was dealt with by Cheshire Police.
