Fire crews tackle Bonfire Night related incidents

FIREFIGHTERS were kept busy tackling Bonfire Night-related incidents, including several in the Warrington area.

At 21:11 firefighters from Birchwood extinguished three small fires on a playing field on Grasmere Avenue, Orford.

Then at 21:53 One fire engine from Warrington was called to an unattended fire in the open. Firefighters used a handheld extinguisher to put it out.

Earlier in the evening at 19:59 one appliance from Warrington Fire Station was called to put out a sofa that had been set alight in the open at Linnet Close, Warrington. Firefighters used a hose reel water jet to extinguish the flames.

Meanwhile, crews from Birchwood attended seven incidents across the Warrington area, ranging from small unattended fires to large bonfires.
