WARRINGTON Sport for All Centre in Latchford hosted its first mixed league netball event to raise funds for charity, including the British Heart Foundation.

Seven teams made up of male and female players from across the Cheshire area battled it out in a fun round robin-style tournament, raising over £600.

Team ‘Forces’ took the win made up of eight women and three men, with ‘Bigger the Hoop’ and ‘Misfit Ballers’ coming in second and third.
Netball Manager, Meg Parker said: “It was fantastic to see the team spirit amongst the players who took part in the mixed league tournament at the weekend. As a centre, we pride ourselves on being inclusive and accessible for all – it was great to see so many men getting involved in what is often regarded as a female dominated sport.”
Located at Sir Thomas Boteler C of E High School, off Knutsford Road, Warrington Sport for All Centre – formerly known as the Ball Hall – offers two full size basketball/netball courts, a cafe, free parking and holiday camps for children (Basketball and Netball). Netball is played at the centre on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. Basketball is played Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
Meg continues: “We’d like to see more male players coming along to the centre to enjoy netball. If you’re interested and would like to find out more, please get in touch!”
