TWO fire crews attended a road traffic collision on the M6 near Lymm last night following a collision involving a van and a car.
The collision took place shortly after 6;30 pm on the M6 north, between junctions 20 and 21, Lymm interchange, resulting in the motorway being closed and tailbacks of five miles.
One fire engine from Lymm and one from Stockton Heath attended at the scene. The crews used a thermal imaging camera to check the two vehicles and Highways Agency attended to close the motorway while the incident was being dealt with.
Traffic stopped on the #M6 northbound between J20 (#M56) and J21 (#Warrington) due to a collision involving a car and van.
