Lengthy delays as town centre road closed following collision

THERE were lengthy delays on roads around Warrington town centre following a two-vehicle collision near the Crosfield’s roundabout this afternoon (Monday) which resulted in Liverpool Road being closed.

It is understood one person hospitalised following the collision involving a black BMW and an orange Renault Clio at around 2 pm on the junction of Crosfields Street and Liverpool Road.

Police and an ambulance attended the scene of the collision which Cheshire police say could have been the result of one of the drivers suffering from a ‘medical episode’.
Liverpool Road was closed while the incident was dealt with, resulting in a knock-on effect on traffic in around Warrington town centre.
It also created delays for local bus services.
