WORK is about to start on the final phase of the road works on Cherry Lane, Lymm which have cut off a key link between the village and the motorway network.

Scottish Power – who are carrying out the work to create capacity for new electric vehicle charging points at Lymm services on the M6 – say the third and final phase of the work will start tomorrow (Saturday).
They expect the work to be completed and Cherry Lane to be fully open early next month.
The section of Cherry Lane between Elm Tree Road and Cliff Lane should be re-open from this Saturday.
But the top section of Cherry Lane between Old Smithy Lane and the junction with the A56 Booth’s Hill Road will be closed.

A trench will be dug along this section of Cherry Lane to install a new underground cable.
Parking outside the Co-op store in Cherry Lane will be restricted but an agreement has been reached with the nearby St Winefride’s RC Church for shoppers to use the church car park when services are not being held
