Road closed as 400 litre fuel tank ruptured during HGV collision

A road was closed in Warrington last night following a collision involving two HGVs and a van at Omega which ruptured a 400-litre fuel tank.

The incident took place shortly before 10 pm on Skyline Drive

A fire crew from Warrington was called to the scene of the road traffic collision involving two heavy goods vehicles and a van. Although no one was trapped, the collision ruptured a 400 litre fuel tank on one of the lorries and caused diesel to spill into drains.
Firefighters used specialist environmental protection equipment to cover the drains.
The Environment Agency and local authority were informed.
