WARRINGTON-based broadcaster Natalie Pike has been shortlisted in the Journalist or Broadcaster of the Season category at the Northwest Football Awards.

Natalie is the only woman who has been nominated for this year’s top football award, aimed at celebrating and recognising those who have achieved footballing excellence both on and off the field.

Natalie, who works for both Manchester City FC and BBC Radio Manchester, is the only woman on the shortlist of seven for the prestigious award.
She is up against four journalists from The Athletic – Adam Crafton, Daniel Taylor, Simon Hughes and Greg O’Keefe – as well as BBC Lancashire’s Andy Bayes and local reporter Jon Colman from The Carlisle News and star.

Laura Wolfe, from the NFA said “This is a very special year for us. We smashed our previous record of entries received.
“The quality of submissions from clubs and organisations blew us away and the panel had some seriously healthy debate over the course of the judging process.
“It looks like we are in for another brilliant night when the winners are announced on 7 November.”

Natalie said: “I am so honoured to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award. To be the only woman nominated is a true privilege, I hope to become the first woman to win this category in the awards 15-year history.”
Winners will be announced at a star-studded ceremony, which will be held on 7th November at Old Trafford cricket ground, in Manchester.
