Council confirms up to eight weeks of major road works at Lymm

WARRINGTON Borough Council has confirmed up to eight weeks of major road works set to start at Lymm a week on Monday (October 17).

The road closures are for structural maintenance on Dane Bank Road and Dane Bank Road East.

The roads will be closed between Whitbarrow Road and New Road from October 17 and will be closed from 7 pm to 1 am so the works can be undertaken safely.

The work will also include resurfacing at the junction of Brookfield Road, Dane Bank Road and Whitbarrow Road.
All roads will be fully open to traffic outside these times. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Vehicular access will be under the control of the contractor as directed on site. Vehicles parked on the road, verge or footway obstructing the works may be removed.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway as follows: Dane Bank Road from its junction with Brookfield Road/Whitbarrow Road to its junction with Dane Bank Road East; Dane Bank Road East from its junction with Dane Bank Road to its junction with New Road; Brookfield Road from its junction with Dane Bank Road for 25 metres; Whitbarrow Road from its junction with Dane Bank Road for 25 metres in a south-easterly direction; Whitbarrow Road from its junction with Dane Bank Road for 50 metres in a north-westerly direction; Lymmhay Lane from its junction with Dane Bank Road/Dane Bank Road East for 25 metres.
The Order will be effective from 17th October 2022 for 8 weeks, between 7pm and 1am, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Brookfield Road, Eagle Brow, The Cross, New Lane and vice versa. The restrictions are required for carriageway resurfacing.
