Police appeal for witnesses after pedestrian left with life-threatening injuries

OFFICERS are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was left with life-threatening injuries following a serious collision with a car on Chester Road, Warrington, during the early hours of Sunday.

At around 1.50 am on Sunday 2 October officers were called to Chester Road to the junction of Slutchers Lane following reports of a collision involving a grey Volvo XC60 and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 27-year-old local man, was taken to Aintree Hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car, a 32-year-old man from Runcorn, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.

Police are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have captured dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
