Points shared at Guiseley

WARRINGTON Rylands returned home from Yorkshire having shared the points with Guiseley, but for an inspired display by home goalkeeper Kyle Trenerry it would have been all three points.

Trenerry pulled of a string of top class saves throughout the game to keep Rylands at bay starting in the 5th minute when he palmed a shot from on loan debutant Kelly N’Mai over the bar.

Rylands enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges without further troubling Trenerry, while the home side overcame their slow start with John Johnson hitting the top of Rylands bar with a cross.
Johnson also fired a shot over the Rylands cross bar as did Jake Cassidy and Jordan Emery, while Callum Dolan twice fired over the Guiseley bar as play switched from end to end.
Jake Cassidy had the ball in Rylands net on the half-hour mark but was adjudged offside.
Rylands ended the first half on top with James Neild heading wide, Jak McCourt shooting over the bar from 35 yards and in the closing seconds Neild shooting off target.

Guiseley started the second half on the front foot, in the 48th minute Ethan Vaughan played in a cross which took a deflection goal wards but Rylands goalkeeper Sam Tickle was alive to prevent the opening goal, which came three minutes later.
Tickle launched a huge clearance downfield, N’Mai flicked the ball over Trenerry head and was bundled over by Vaughan as they both chased the ball as it bounced towards the empy net. Dolan sent Trenerry the wrong way with his spot kick.
The lead last just four minutes as the Lions of Guiseley came rearing back with Lebran Mbeka powering home a header from a corner.
Guiseley went close to taking the lead with Tickle saving well to prevent Cassidy scoring with a header at the far post and Adam Haw flicked a header just wide.

The home side was playing a more direct long ball game than their visitors, as when they tried to play out from the back they often put themselves under pressure and lost the ball and Trenerry had to get his defence out of trouble on several occasions in the last half hour.
He bravely came off his line to block at the feet of N’Mai as he danced his way through Guiseley’s defence. He pulled off two good saves to deny Dolan and held onto a late shot from Dean Furman.
Haw had a late chance for Guiseley but could not hit the target and deep into stoppage time a McCourt free kick found Sam Egerton In space at the far post but he directed his header wide.
