PLANS for the long-awaited refurbishment of Culcheth Library have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council’s planning department.
The scheme – for which the Friends of Culcheth Library and local residents have been fund-raising for some time – will add an additional room to the building in Warrington Road, Culcheth.
An existing courtyard will be infilled to create the additional room, if the proposals are approved.
The existing entrance porch will be removed and a gantry canopy will be installed to service the library entrance.
Warrington Borough Council Planning officers will now consider the proposals.
It is likely the decision will be delegated to officers rather than dealt with by the borough council’s development management committee.
