Changes to bus services from October 3

THERE will be some changes to bus services in Warrington from October 3.

Warrington’s Own Buses is making changes to some bus services and by working with local authority partners, several services have been saved and others have been improved.

The following services will change:
1 & 2 retimed off-peak
17 new evening service to Birchwood
19/28/28A first 28A journey from Warrington operates earlier, 13:56 19 arrives slightly later in Leigh and evening 19 trips retimed to 15 mins past.
20 & 21 additional running time to improve punctuality
32 additional punctuality measures

CAT5 is revised to improve journey times but will not serve Star Lane/Barsbank Lane in Statham. Customers should use the stops close by on the A56. The route from Lymm to Altrincham is changed to include Partington. The morning extension to Blessed Thomas Holford College is removed.
X5 replaces 5A and runs a new route from Warrington via Bank Quay Station then Knutsford Road, Grappenhall to Lymm before joining the A56 to run faster to Altrincham and reconnecting Broomedge
CAT6/7/8/9/9A minor time changes to maintain frequencies between Warrington & Stockton Heath. CAT8 retimed in the evenings.
62/62A (Halton/Runcorn) will now operate hourly Monday to Friday as a supported service between Warrington & Runcorn Bus Station. Customers between Runcorn & Halebank should use alternative duplicate Arriva services.

Evening additional journeys are added to 17 to Birchwood and the CAT5 to Stockton Heath, Grappenhall & Lymm

  1. They should look at banning unruly youngsters riding bikes inside the bus station, in fact, they should ban all bikes it is not a thoroughfare, and pay more attention to keeping the place tidy, the amount of litter where the buses pull into the bays make the place look like a third world country.
