A PLAN to demolish the former Arnold Clark car dealership on the Gemini Retail Park and replace it with an Aldi store is to come before Warrington’s development management committee this week.
The scheme – revealed by Warrington-Worldwide last month – comes some eight months after Aldi revealed it was considering building a new store in the area. Officers are recommending the plan be approved and more than 30 nearby residents are supporting it.
One resident has objected on highway safety grounds, however.
Aldi held a virtual exhibition at the end of January as part of a public consultation.
Residents were able to view the plans and provide feedback via an online questionnaire.
If approved, the new store will provide up to 40 new full and part-time jobs.
