Police seek witnesses after schoolboy receives serious injuries following collision at Appleton

UPDATED: Police are seeking witnesses after an 11-year-old schoolboy received serious injuries following a collision involving a car on Lyons Lane, Appleton, yesterday, Thursday.

The incident took place at around 3:30pm with the youngster being rushed to Alder Hey Hospital, with serious, but not life-threatening injuries

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At around 3.30pm on Thursday 15 September, police were called to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a black Vauxhall Insignia on Lyons Lane, Appleton.

“The pedestrian, a 11-year-old boy, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
“He was taken to Alder Hey Hospital for treatment.

“Road closures were temporarily in place for investigative work to take place.
“Enquiries are underway and officers are now appealing for anyone who has captured dashcam or CCTV footage or may have witnessed the incident to come forward.”
