WARRINGTON Rylands today announced the surprise departure of their promotion and FA Vase winning manager Dave McNabb just hours before their home league game against Hyde United.

In a statement, the club said: “Today the club can confirm, through mutual agreement, that Dave McNabb and his management team have departed from the club.
“We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Dave and his team for an unbelievable journey over the last 4 ½ years.
“It’s always sad when something good comes to an end, but we wish Dave and his staff the best of luck for the future, and they will always be welcome back at Gorsey lane.”

McNabb took charge of more than 150 games as Rylands boss winning three promotions and the FA Vase at Wembley.
He has departed along with assistant manager Fraser Ablett and the remainder of the coaching staff.
Ex-Ashton and Stafford manager Jody Banim has been appointed on a caretaker basis ahead of tonight’s game.

Following the announcement McNabb posted on social media: “Never did I think we would of achieved what we have when I walked through the door in 2018.
“Thank you to every player past & present, my exceptional management team, the volunteers and of course, you the fans.”
