A man has been arrested for allegedly exposing himself to children on Knutsford Road, Warrington, last month.

The man, who has since been released on conditional bail, was caught after allegedly following a woman along Knutsford Road three times, on two consecutive days.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At 5.40 pm on Tuesday, August 6, police were called to reports that a woman had been followed by a man on Knutsford Road between 3 pm and 3.30 pm that day, and between 3pm and 3.30 pm on Monday, August 5.
“The caller also reported that while he was following her, the man had also exposed himself to a number of children.
“Officers subsequently spoke to the victim and took a statement from the woman.

“While enquiries were being undertaken, at 11.26 pm on August 6, officers received a second call from the woman reporting that the man was following her again, but on this occasion, a friend had managed to catch the man and detained him on Knutsford Road.

“Officers attended and a 33-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of use of threatening behaviour with intent to cause harassment and indecent exposure.
“The man has since been released on conditional bail and is set to report back to officers on October 3.”
