Former Wolves’ star Chris Sandow behind bars accused of police assault

FORMER Warrington Wolves NRL star Chris Sandow is behind bars after being refused bail charged with an alleged assault on police.

Sandow, who joined Warrington in 2015 after playing 159 NRL games for the Rabbitohs and Eels had been in custody for the past two weeks and had his bail application denied for a second time on Monday this week.

The 33-year-old has been charged with serious assault of a police officer causing bodily harm, serious assault of a police officer or person acting in aid of a police officer, two counts of obstructing police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, two counts of driving without a licence, and evasion.

After a second failed bail application Sandow was remanded in custody, and is scheduled to appear for mention on October 4.
