A book of condolence has today opened at Warrington Town Hall following the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

The Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Jean Flaherty, made the initial entry into the book. This was followed by the council leader, Cllr Russ Bowden, leader of the Warrington Conservative party, Cllr Nigel Balding, leader of the independents, Cllr Craig Lenihan, and council chief executive, Prof Steven Broomhead MBE.

From today Saturday 10 September, the Town Hall will be open every day, from 9.30 am to 4 pm, for people to attend to leave a message of condolence.
Members of the public are asked to use the West driveway and entrance to the Town Hall (the side closest to Bank Park) to enter, and exit via the reception area to the East. Stewards will be onsite to direct and support.
Residents can also leave a message in an online book of condolence by visiting the Royal Family website at royal.uk/send-message-condolence.

Flowers without plastic wrapping can be laid on the Town Hall lawn. Please do not place flowers at the foot of the Golden Gates.
The flag at Warrington Town Hall is being flown at half-mast as a mark of respect. The flag will be raised to full mast at times, following national protocol, during the local Proclamation Day.

The national period of mourning will continue until the end of the day of the State Funeral and the council will be following national protocol and advice during this time.
Further updates and information will be made available via the council’s website at warrington.gov.uk
