WARRINGTON Rylands crashed out of the FA Cup at Gorsey Lane, but were the architects of their own downfall conceding three goals in the opening 17 minutes, with all three coming from their own mistakes.

Hyde United’s Tom Pratt pounced on a wayward Rylands pass, played a one-two with ED Brown and fired a shot into the top corner of the net to open the scoring in the 5th minute

Four minutes later Pratt intercepted another poor Rylands pass and was brought down by Rylands goalkeeper Will Appleyard allowing Jack Redshaw send the keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot.

In the 17th minute Rylands again lost possession near their penalty area, Ed Brown played in Pratt who scored his second to put Hyde United in complete control.

Hyde’s Bradley Roscoe twice hit the woodwork as Rylands struggled to clear their lines while Aaron Morris cleared a Callum Spooner shot off the line.

Recovering from the shock opening, Rylands started to come more into the game as they looked for a way back into the tie, but some desperate last ditch defending from Hyde denied Rylands a goal.

The home side’s best chance came in the 28th minute, a James Neild cross found Ryan Brooke whose header from point blank range was blocked by Hyde goalkeeper Giosue Bellagambi who spread himself Schmeichel style to make the save.

Brooke was also off target with a header from a Callum Dolan cross in the opening minute off the second half but Hyde soon quashed any hopes Rylands had of mounting a spectacular comeback.

Hesitation in the Rylands defence in the 51st minute allowed Brown to nip between defenders and fire into the bottom corner to put the game out of Rylands reach.

Although Rylands continued to push forward and had a number of half chances, with Kevin Ellison heading over the bar from a corner, it always looked more likely that if there was to be any more goals it would be Hyde scoring them.

In the closing minutes of the tie Rylands Dave Webb was dismissed having been shown a second yellow card after an off the ball scuffle with Hyde’s Callum Spooner who also booked for his part in the incident.
