Fire crews tackle more deliberate fires in the open

FIREFIGHTERS were called out last night to tackle more deliberate fires in the open in the Warrington area.

At 18:44 one fire crew from Birchwood used one hose reel to put out a small fire in woodland off Westbrook Way, Warrington, that is believed to have been started deliberately.

Earlier at 18:37 two fire engines, from Warrington and Lymm were called to reports of grassland on fire in Birchwood Way, Warrington.
Crews used main jets and stack drags to put out the fire, which involved approximately 400 square metres of grass.
