Police launch appeal following attempted theft from HGVs at truck stop

POLICE have launched an appeal for information following reports of attempted thefts from HGV vehicles parked at the Poplars Truck Stop at Lymm, Warrington.

At around 11.15 pm on Tuesday 30 August, police responded to reports that a group of men were attempting to break into a HGV on Poplar Park, Cliff Lane.

They were believed to be dressed in dark-coloured clothing.
Officers attended the scene and conducted a search of the area, but there was no trace of the offenders.
Enquiries are ongoing and police are now appealing for information from members of the public.

Detective Constable Michael McDermott said: “This investigation is ongoing and as part of our enquiries we are keen to speak to anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage which may provide crucial information to help us in our investigation.
“If you think you seen anything suspicious or may have any information in relation to the incident, please contact Cheshire Constabulary as a matter of urgency.”
