One-day road closure to allow work on sub-station

THERE will be a one-day road closure on Broomfields Road, Appleton, tomorrow, Wednesday, August 31, to allow Scottish Power to carry out work on a sub-station.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Broomfields Road from its junction with Dingleway to the vehicular entrance to Broomfields Leisure Centre.

The Order will be effective from 31st August 2022 for 1 day, between the hours of 8am and 4:30pm, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative route will be via Dingleway, Southway Avenue and vice versa. The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to undertake switchgear replacement work to the substation.
