UKRAINIAN families with their hosts and local supporters celebrated Ukrainian National Day at Culcheth Sports Club.
The event was organized by the local Ukrainian Family Hub to mark the occasion and there were games, football, a bouncy castle and stalls to entertain the children.
Among those present were Warrington North MP Charlotte Nichols,local PCSO Tom Palfrey and chairman of Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council Neil Johnson, together with other local parish councillors.
Climax of the day came when the crowd of several hundred gathered in the hall for an address by the founder and chairman of the Ukrainian Hub, Kate McCarthy-Booth (translated into Ukrainian), followed by the singing of the Ukrainian national anthem.
This was led by a well-known Ukrainian opera singer, who also entertained the audience with two emotional Ukrainian songs.
